Zinc ointment is a proven preparation used to support the treatment of many skin problems. The active substance is zinc oxide (Zinci oxidi unguentum) at a concentration of 10%.

Zinc oxide has drying, astringent and mattifying properties. It also has antiseptic and slightly anti-inflammatory effects. This makes zinc ointment very widely applicable. It is excellent for acne and skin eczema of various origins. It also accelerates the healing of minor wounds and abrasions and prevents the spread of inflammation.

Zinc Ointment is often used in infants to relieve so-called nappy rash. It can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for the symptomatic treatment of recurring herpes or eczema.

The great advantage of the preparation is its fast and effective action - in many situations, improvement is already visible after the first application.

How to use: The product is intended for external use only. In the case of skin abrasions or flare-ups, the product should be applied in a thin layer with the palm of the hand to the affected area 1-2 times a day. However, for acne lesions and eczema, it is sufficient to apply it spot-on without rubbing. As Zinc Ointment is thick and hardly absorbs, it is best applied at night. The product leaves a clearly visible film on the face and is therefore unlikely to be suitable under make-up. As Zinc Ointment is highly drying, it should only be applied topically. It should not be applied to larger, let alone healthy areas of the skin to avoid excessive drying. Therefore, Zinc Ointment should be applied briefly and a maximum of 2 times a day. Hands should be washed thoroughly before and after each application of Zinc Ointment. It should not be used on open wounds, severely damaged skin or in cases of acute inflammation. Contact with the eyes must also be avoided, as it can cause severe conjunctival irritation.

Indications and effects: Supportive in mild inflammations of the skin, for abrasions of the epidermis, and auxiliary in the treatment of acne.
